3 dead in horror coach crash on A90 – passengers cut from wreckage

The incident – involving three vehicles – happened near the village of Drumlithie on the A90 around 16.30pm this afternoon.

The road is now closed in both directions as fire engines and amublances rush to the scene. 

Multiple people had to be cut free from their vehicles in the chaos and four were rushed to hospital. 

Eyewitness Jillie Aitchison, 45, told Northsound: “I was travelling northbound in the car with my daughter.

“It was absolute carnage. There were people on the road that we couldn‘t help. I tried to administer first aid.”

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers are currently dealing with a serious road traffic accident on the A90 at the Drumlithie junction.

“The road is currently closed in both directions and diversions are in place via the A92.

“The public are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman added: “We have five appliances and one is a heavy rescue appliance.

“It is involving a bus and three cars.”

The closure could affect Aberdeen fans trying to get to Glasgow for tonight’s Scottish Cup replay with Rangers.
