Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: A Joe Biden presidential run ‘doesn‘t particularly animate me‘

By – The Washington Times – Monday, April 15, 2019

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Sunday she “will support whoever the Democratic nominee is,” but a candidacy featuring former Vice President “doesn’t particularly animate me.”

“I understand why people would be excited by that, this idea that we can go back to the good old days with Obama, with Obama’s vice president. There’s an emotional element to that, but I don’t want to go back. I want to go forward,” the New York Democrat said during an interview with Yahoo News’ Skullduggery podcast.

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said she does not have a candidate in the crowded 2020 election field, but she mentioned her support for Sens. Bernard Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

“I’m very supportive of Bernie’s run. I haven’t endorsed anybody, but I’m very supportive of Bernie. I also think what Elizabeth Warren has been bringing to the table is truly remarkable, truly remarkable and transformational,” she said.

has yet to announce his candidacy to face President Trump in the 2020 presidential election despite being the frontrunner in many polls.
