Boulder police searching for man who attempted to lure child into vehicle

Boulder police are searching for a man who reportedly tried to lure a 10-year-old boy into his vehicle on Wednesday.

According to a release, the boy was walking home from school near the intersection of 15th Street and Orchard Avenue at 3 p.m. Wednesday when a man came up to him and asked if the boy wanted a ride home.

The boy told police the man asked him to get in his vehicle, but the boy ran away and told a parent about the incident.

The suspect is described as a middle-aged white man with scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a green hat and was driving an older model red van that was dirty and in poor condition.

Police have increased patrols in the area.
