Kamala Harris‘ ‘Beto O‘Rourke‘ email touts women, candidates of color in 2020 race

Democratic presidential candidate responded to former Rep. Beto O’Rourke’s 2020 announcement on Thursday by blasting out a fundraising email touting the “record number of women and people of color” already in the running.

“We are facing something unprecedented: a record number of Democrats — including a record number of women and people of color — are running for President,” , who is black, wrote in an email titled, “Beto O’Rourke.”

“This is greatly encouraging for the future of our country, but there is still a long path ahead of us,” wrote. “I look forward to engaging in substantive debates with each of these candidates — including the newest to join the race today, Beto O’Rourke — and ultimately selecting a Democratic nominee who will take on and beat Donald Trump in November of 2020.”

The email asks supporters to “chip in” between $5 and $250 toward ‘ campaign.

, later appearing on MSNBC, appeared to deliver another subtle dig at Mr. O’Rourke when she said voters want a candidate with a “proven record of producing.”

Mr. O’, who officially entered the race on Thursday, has renewed scrutiny on both sides of the aisle for his lack of concrete policy ideas and purported “white male privilege.”
