Major London university EVACUATED over ‘bomb alert‘

The major university was closed due to a suspicious package this afternoon.

Students were being moved away from the building in Egham in Surrey, just outside of Greater London.

A swarm of police vehicles were pictured racing to the scene – with at least seven pictured outside one side of the building.

One student said on “The entirety of Royal Holloway has been evacuated due to a suspicious package/bomb scare.

“The evacuation is taking everybody into the woods!”

The university reopened shortly afterwardsafter the package was deemed not suspicious.

A spokeswoman for Royal Holloway, University of London, said: “We can confirm that a number of university buildings were evacuated for a short time today as a precaution whilst a suspect package was investigated.

“The police have identified that the package is not suspicious. Staff and students are now able to access all buildings.”
