ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – Federal authorities say two men have been arrested in Texas in a New Mexico killing in which the victim was shot during a pursuit.

The U.S. Marshals Service announced that 31-year-old Jesus Angel Garcia of Peralta, New Mexico, and 23-year-old Alexandro Montelongo-Murillo of El Paso were arrested Thursday at a motel in El Paso in the March 2 killing of Daniel Sandoval of Meadow Lake, New Mexico.

A statement released by the Marshals Service says Sandoval was struck several times when shots were fired at a vehicle he was driving in Los Lunas, New Mexico, and that warrants alleging murder and other crimes were later issued for Garcia and Montelongo-Murillo.

It was not immediately known whether Garcia and Montelongo-Murillo have attorneys who could comment on the allegations.
